The Dolphin clan sent nine of their finest to the Addison this last week for a great Girl’s Get-Away. The Dolphin Divas came to us from Chicago, Texas and Minneapolis. The group included grandmother, mothers, nieces, aunts, sisters and daughters and they ranged in age between 12 and 30+.
So what does a group of Dolphin Divas (with matching T-shirts) do whilst in Fernandina Beach? They bicycle and the go to the beach, they shop and they shop some more. I found them one evening out in front of Fernandina Fantastic Fudge with Superman ice cream on their faces. They sleep late, relax and read in our courtyard, they laugh and they talk. Oh boy, do they talk, catching up with all that has happened since the last time they got together.
The Dolphins checked out this morning and a silence has fallen over the inn, nothing but the pitter patter of Housekeeper’s feet as they get the inn ready for our next group of guests. We have another woman staying with us for a week, a solo traveller, and I’m going to take her to the Green Turtle for lunch along with Maggie and One-Eyed Louie. That sounds like a great way to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon in Fernandina Beach. Next weekend won’t be quiet at all as Shrimp Festival will be in full swing. I’m going to enjoy this while I can.
