More On National Food Holidays

February 29th, 2012 by theAddison

The President of the United States has the authority to declare a commemorative event or day by proclamation. Apparently he declares a ton of National Food Holidays. Every day in March has at least one, and sometimes two, National Food Holidays that have been lobbied for by some special interest / farmer / food factory group. March starts off with the 1st being National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day and National Fruit Compote Day.

These guys really make it hard to incorporate the National Food Holidays into our menu but we’ll see what we can do. The most interesting one that I see on the horizon is March 28th or “National Something On A Stick Day”. Really. I kid you not. That is the Holiday.

You can follow along by checking the bottom of our home page each day where I usually post our breakfast menu or the weather. Starting March 1st I’ll be noting the National Food Holiday as well. We’ll see how that goes. Let me know if you find the info useful in planning your menus.
