I just realized that it has been weeks since last posting. I haven’t had writer’s block its just that there has been so much going on I haven’t had time!
Take this weekend for example…. The 5th Annual Petanque US Open is down at the river, the Farmer’s Market is in full swing and there is the History of the American Soldier at Fort Clinch. Throw a Veteran’s Day Parade (bagpipe band in photo) on top of it all and you’ve got a pretty full weekend.
The weather has been gorgeous too and that really brings out the crowds. We’ve had guests from Norway, Holland and Germany in the last few weeks.
November is also a big month for weddings. In addition to the weddings we are doing for guests I have also had the honor of marrying some friends. Heidi and Todd, friends of Lee’s got married here at the Addison and that was followed closely by Ross (from Kelly’s Courtyard Cafe) and Lindsay (of Fernandina Fantastic Fudge).
The parade is winding down. I can hear the booming of the Fernandina Beach Pirate Club’s cannon over on Center Street and the noise of the Shriner’s cars is fading. Another few minutes and I’ll be able to get Maggie Doone and One-Eyed Louie out from under the bed (they don’t like parades) and take them for a walk in this beautiful weather. Maybe we’ll go watch some Petanque…
