Amelia Island Cycling Routes
Our area is a cyclist’s paradise with enough bike trails on Amelia Island and paved paths to give you a change of scenery each day of your visit. Amelia Island bike paths come in a wide variety from rugged trails winding past century-old, moss-laden live oaks and natural waterways to smooth scenic coastal paths. The Addison on Amelia Island has bicycles for guest use, or you are welcome to bring your own. Your innkeepers are happy to help get you on an Amelia Island bike path that’s ideal for you!

Amelia Island Bike Trails
Amelia Island cycling routes navigate through the historic district, connect local and state parks, and are part of the East Coast Greenway which runs from Key West to Maine. The Amelia Island Trail starts at Peters Point Beachfront Park, heads south along A1A, and ends in Big Talbot State Park. Our newest Amelia Island cycling trail, the Amelia River-to-Sea Trail, connects Crane Island with the Atlantic Ocean at beach access 30.
Our favorite Amelia Island cycling routes include:
- Egan’s Creek Greenway to view nature, birds, and wildlife such as alligators, turtles, and rabbits
- Fort Clinch State Park offers a canopied paved road to the fort and beach within the state park
- Downtown historic district for an up-close view of the historic homes and buildings
Future cycling routes include connectivity between the Egan’s Creek Greenway and the Fernandina Beach Marina, the south end of the Amelia Island Trail to the Mayport ferry, and water taxi service to St. Mary’s, GA to connect with the East Coast Greenway in Georgia.
