Amelia Island has tons of events all year long, but some of the most exciting events happen as the weather starts to warm up again! The first weekend in May, join the locals of Fernandina Beach in celebrating the Isle of the Eight Flags Shrimp Festival! The event is held each year to celebrate the long and interesting history of Amelia Island and enjoy a wide variety of delicious shrimp meals! If you are more interested in some quality local music, consider visiting on one of the days of Sounds on Centre. Every first Friday of the month from April until October, there are free concerts hosted in Historic Downtown which feature talented musicians from around the country!
